I first met David and Susan Ward early last spring when they came to Blue Moon looking for furniture for their new venture. I admired their leap of faith to leave their corporate positions and follow their passion and had the pleasure of working with them on their furnishings. Today I had the chance to visit and enjoy an amazing Carmellota, Yum!

For those of you who have been following our blog since we started late last year you may remember this work table from a Chicago machine shop that I picked up on a shopping trip. It was in our front window and was first purchased by a photography studio but didn’t fit. David and Susan added wheels and extended the adjustable legs, sanded and polyurethaned the top and a coffee bar was born.

Tall dark and chippy! Yup that is his name! Four years ago my friend and web designer Trudy of Adgals changed the look of her studio and we were the happy recipients of two amazing large cabinets. One sold right away, the other was with us long enough that he was named. Then he finally found a home, his owner moved and he came back to us to happily find another home at Buddy Brew.
This zinc top table also on wheels found its way to the Moon when it’s owners relocated and didn’t have a spot for him, he also found a home at Buddy Brew reinvented as a coffee condiment station.
This wonderful Mural that fills a main wall above the seating area, showcases a familiar Tampa scene of UT and downtown from their Kennedy location. I didn’t get the story on this, but I’m sure there is one. Make sure to ask when you visit. Love the pic of Buddy in the bottom right corner.
This corner cabinet also purchased at the Moon, was once used in a Health Food store used to house dry goods, now housing Buddy Brews amazing fresh roasted blends. So amazing in fact the bin is empty. Sold Out and it’s only Noon!
Of course what would a coffee shop be without a Homer piece, also displaced when it’s owner moved and consigned back to the Moon, lucky table is now also housed at Buddy Brew enjoying the ambience.
