Most people are already aware of the lovely little partnership in our little shop. We’re talking about Blue Moon sharing space with Fresh Threads, our favorite vintage consignment clothing and accessories trader. This week, we want to celebrate that friendship.

One of the main draws of our store is our oodles of authentic, one-of-a-kind furniture and accessories. This stuff looks like some of the reproduced stuff sold in big retail stores, but it’s the real deal. Love it!

How cool is it to use dishware with a story behind it? Pots and pans passed down through generations, used to make countless delicious meals for friends and family. These copper pots were found in a Parisian flea market and brought back to Blue Moon. They’ve obviously got years of love in them, and they would sure make a statement hanging up in your kitchen.

For a little more modern look, check out these diner dishes. Sturdy and simple — they’d fit right in any dining room.

We are just loving this earthy lamp. The base is made of real petrified wood.

Here’s another fabulous lamp. It’s made of an antique surveyor tripod and can be adjusted for height. So original!

When I was a kid, I ruled the dining room dimmer switch. My mom had this gorgeous vintage painted chandelier, and I was obsessed with casting just the right light over our nightly meal. Too bright, and you’re in the doctor’s office. Too dim, and you can’t tell whether the potatoes touched the green beans (I was a picky eater, too. Sorry, Mom.)

The thing about lighting is that it makes a big statement in a not-so-obvious way. It’s easy to notice a bright couch or big piece of art hanging on the wall, but the right lighting is like the right make-up application — so perfect that it’s inconspicuous.

That’s the great thing about crystal chandeliers. They blend with a room’s other styles and colors while providing a POP of something special.

Slap a dimmer switch on these babies, and you’re in business!
