Furniture reborn — just in time for the new year

January 5, 2010

Maybe this new year you’ve made a list of pesky flaws to work on. Maybe you’ve vowed to make THIS the year for reinvention. Maybe you’ll be a new YOU come 2011. Here at Blue Moon, we already think you’re perfect.  But when it comes to furniture, there’s always room for improvement.

Take this fabulous chippy kitchen island. Sturdy, colorful and full of character. What could be better than that?

How about the fact that this island was recreated from a big old door? Check out the front detail with the old metal hardware.

It’s all thanks to a Blue Moon friend who builds furniture out of architectural salvage, including custom work. Call Blue Moon to work it out.

Maybe this is the year you reinvent yourself AND your favorite furniture. Hmm?

New life in retro office gear

December 28, 2009

The proposition of eating at your desk may conjure thoughts of scarfed PB&J’s or vending machine raids, but not so fast.

We bet you wouldn’t forgo a feast at this set-up.

This retro office-ware came from New York City — refurbished and resold to a stylish couple at a flea market who eventually passed it on to Blue Moon as a dining set. Sleek, modern and one-of-a-kind. It politely makes a statement without overpowering the room.

Oh, and did we mention the six adorable chairs? The slipcovers bring a certain formality to the industrial flavor. Still, chairs sans-slips look pretty cool, too.

Stop by to have a look for yourself.  But hurry — this treasure is sure to be scooped up in no time!
