Perry Chairs are back! For those of you that don’t remember them, we have sold 88 total.

Charles Perry a sculptor and architect first designed these wonderful chairs in the 1970′s.

His tie to Tampa is the sculpture in front of The Bank Of America building downtown. In the 1990′s he donated close to 1000 to the aquarium and we have been the lucky recipients of 88. If you missed out the first time 12 have been reconsigned @ $65.00 ea. The backs articulate like a movie theatre seat. Very Comfortable and sturdy!

 Buddy Brew named after the proprietors dog, serves fresh roasted coffee beans that  are a delight to the palate.

I first met David and Susan Ward early last spring when they came to Blue Moon looking for furniture for their new venture. I admired their leap of faith to leave their corporate positions and follow their passion and had the pleasure of working with them on their furnishings.  Today I had the chance to visit and enjoy an amazing Carmellota, Yum!

I hope you enjoy the tour of the first retail space we’ve featured on our blog. We have been supported by so many local retailers, spas, photographers, ect. that we want to give back by sharing their wonderful spaces with you….  

For those of you who have been following our blog since we started late last year you may remember this work table from a Chicago machine shop that I picked up on a shopping trip. It was in our front window and was first purchased by a photography studio but didn’t fit. David and Susan added wheels and extended the adjustable legs, sanded and polyurethaned the top and a coffee bar was born.

Tall dark and chippy! Yup that is his name! Four years ago my friend and web designer Trudy of Adgals changed the look of her studio and we were the happy recipients of two amazing large cabinets. One sold right away, the other was with us long enough that he was named. Then he finally found a home, his owner moved and he came back to us to happily find another home at Buddy Brew.

This zinc top table also on wheels found its way to the Moon when it’s owners relocated and didn’t have a spot for him, he also found a home at Buddy Brew reinvented as a coffee condiment station.

This wonderful Mural that fills a main wall above the seating area, showcases a familiar Tampa scene of UT and downtown from their Kennedy location.  I didn’t get the story on this, but I’m sure there is one. Make sure to ask when you visit. Love the pic of Buddy in the bottom right corner.

This corner cabinet also purchased at the Moon,  was once used in a Health Food store used to house dry goods, now housing Buddy Brews amazing fresh roasted blends. So amazing in fact the bin is empty. Sold Out and it’s only Noon! 

Of course what would a coffee shop be without a Homer piece, also displaced when it’s owner moved and consigned back to the Moon, lucky table is now also housed at Buddy Brew enjoying the ambience.

Carey, Amy and a host of mutual  friends including Amy’s husband Chris basically gutted this nondescript 1980′s home and the transformation was dramatic! I hope you enjoy the tour as much as I did.

The Closing on this long-awaited project was 2-22-10! The renovation begins!

This is the very famous chandelier that hung in Blue Moon for a very long time awaiting the renovations at Carey’s home. We had daily offers to purchase it.  It is fabulous!

These two mid-century modern chairs arrived at Blue Moon with the original fabric in mint condition. Side table purchased at the Moon painted by Amy.The fireplace went through the biggest transformation  stone from ceiling to floor, before, now the iridescent tiles in a shimmery green-blue! So Beautiful!

Carey and Amy painted and stenciled the cement floor  in the entry kitchen and family room after the existing flooring was removed. They said it was a labor of love but well worth the results!

We usually don’t get a chance to show you the pieces that we custom make as they go straight to the customer.

We had two come into the shop as the customers were on vaca so here they are…. This kitchen island was an adaptation of the one in the shop that has been here tooo long and has been further reduced to $845.00.

They loved it but it was to large so we eliminated the window and did the x-design on both ends.

This is the one still available at the reduced price.

This coffee table was also custom-made for a customer who sent a pic of a coffee table that we then modified to their specs.
